San Bruno, California, United States, 10/10/2007 – Software as Art, a clean-tech startup focused on developing interactive energy management solutions for the home, recently hired Jan Krepelka as Senior Software Engineer. Krepelka brings more than 18 years of hardware and software development experience to the Software as Art team.

Software as Art, a Bay Area-based clean-tech startup that is developing products which help homeowners reduce their environmental impact while saving money on their energy bills, today announced the hiring of Jan Krepelka as Senior Software Engineer. Krepelka brings more than 18 years of hardware and software development experience from organizations such as Akimbo Systems, Inc. and Digital Fountain, Inc.

“We are excited to add Jan to our development team,” said Software as Art’s President of Products, Peter Santangeli. “Bringing years of low-level development experience, Jan will be an excellent asset to the company. We look forward to his future contributions which will bring our product vision into reality.”

As Senior Software Engineer, Jan will be leading the development of firmware and low-level software architecture. Prior to joining Software as Art, Krepelka spent four years at Akimbo Systems as part of the core team that developed video on demand players and services. Before Akimbo, Jan worked at Digital Fountain where he was responsible for client server projects in the streaming media and high-speed data transport sector.

Krepelka holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Czech Technical University.
